“it was just a hobby“: Tom Holland Never Sought Fame

Tom Holland, beloved for his role as Spider-Man, shared that he never sought fame and so it has been a massive adjustment for him and his family.

He also revealed that while he always has to be “aware” of stuffs that’s being said, he doesn’t let it “influence” him in any way.

Speaking on the ‘Dish with Waitrose’ podcast, he told hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett: “It’s like a constant balancing act. And it’s just about being aware of what’s being said, but not allowing that to really influence, like, who you are as a person.

“I’ve said before, I use this thing all the time and it’s like, if you have a problem with me, text me, and if you don’t have my number, you don’t know me well enough to have a problem with me.”

The talented actor, happily in love with Zendaya, shared how neither he nor his family chased after fame, revealing that everyone around him had to “adjust” to his celebrity status.

He said: “And that has been really helpful to kind of see stuff that’s said online and just know that like, you’d never say that to my face. So I’m not gonna let it ruin my day. I guess is what…Yeah. Because we never sought out this life.

“It was never something we, we as a family wanted, it just kind of happened. We’re all going through it at the same time, you know, my family, my parents my brothers have had to adjust to my fame.

“And- but with that comes loads of fantastic opportunities, you know.

Holland previously echoed the same sentiment on the ” Jay Shetty Podcast,” Holland said, “I really do think what’s interesting about my career is this was never something I wanted … it was just a hobby, it was something that my mum would let me do on the summer holidays.”

He also revealed in same interview that Hollywood scares him and he actively looks for ways to distance himself from the Industry.

“I really am a massive fan of making movies, but I really do not like Hollywood. It is not for me,” Holland said.

“The business really scares me. I understand that I’m a part of that business and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it, but that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it to kind of just live as normal a life as possible.”

Holland added, “Like, you’ll never see me at an award show that I don’t have to be at. I’m never going to a red-carpet event that I’m not in the film of. I don’t want the attention when I don’t need it.”

Zendaya Shared Tom Holland’s Reaction To Fame After Spider-Man: Homecoming

Zendaya discussed how Spider-Man: Homecoming marked a significant transition for her and her MCU co-star Tom Holland, sharing insights into his reaction to the newfound fame of being Spider-Man.

In an interview with Vogue, Zendaya discussed how both she and Holland’s careers were affected by Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“We were both very, very young, but my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight. One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man. I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.”
