Paul Rudd and his wife Julie Yaeger, have been married for 20 years. The couple wed in 2003 and share two children.
In an interview back in 2018, Paul Rudd couldn’t help but praise his wife and revealed how he realized that she was the one.
Paul & Yeager met in New York
Yaeger met Rudd when she worked as a publicist. After his success with Clueless, Rudd sought a bigger team. They first met in a New York publicist's office, where Yaeger was on staff, and after lunch a few days later, their romance blossomed.
In an interview with Marie Claire UK, Rudd talked about Julie Yaeger and how he realized that she wasn’t some ordinary girl.
"She was the first person I met in New York," he explained to Marie Claire UK in 2018. "We started talking and there was a maturity with her – she had experienced some tragedy in her life, I had too, and the impression I got was, wow, this is a woman. This isn't a girl."
He further continued,
“I was really taken with who she was and how she had overcome and was in the process of overcoming adversities in her life. There was a perspective that she had and still has on the world that you don’t come to easily – it’s earned and most people don’t have it at such a young age.”
Yaeger* *is a producer and screenwriter
Yaeger began her career as a publicist in the 1990s and later became a skilled producer and screenwriter. In 2017, she collaborated with Rudd on Fun Mom Dinner, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Yaeger wrote the screenplay, while her husband served as executive producer and made a cameo, showcasing their creative partnership.
Yaeger and Rudd excel not only as partners in marriage and parenting but also in business. After Rudd kept finding himself walking into a store called Samuel's Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck, NY, he decided to purchase the store after the previous owner died.
Paul and Yeager co-own the shop with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his wife (and One Tree Hill alum) Hilarie Burton.
