Kylie Jenner revealed that she first got lip fillers after a guy made a remark about her lips that made her feel “unkissable.”
The make up mogul was asked by host Andy Cohen if her “lips” and “insecurities around them” influenced her decision to start Kylie Cosmetics during the first part of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reunion special in June 2021.
“For sure. I think my love for makeup started with my insecurity with my lips,” the makeup mogul said. “And I didn’t ever think about it until I had one of my first kisses.”
“I had really small lips, and I didn’t ever think about it until I had one of my first kisses and a guy said to me, ‘Oh my God, you’re such a good kisser, but you have such small lips,’ or something like that.”
Revealing that comment upset her, she added: “I took that really hard. Just when a guy you like says that, I don’t know, it just really affected me.
This wasn’t the first time Jenner had express her insecurities about her lips. She explained why she ultimately chose to get lip injections in an episode of Life of Kylie from September 2017.
“I just didn’t feel desirable or pretty. I really wanted bigger lips. I would overline my lips with lip liner just to create the illusion of bigger lips — and then finally I was like, this lip liner isn’t doing it. I ended up getting my lips done.”
