The first teaser for Amazon’s “The Boys” spinoff, “Gen V,” debuted Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Brazilian Comic Con Experience, and the new series looks every bit as sinister as the original.

“Gen V” was announced around the time “The Boys” season three signed off earlier this year — just in time to hold fans over until next season.

The series, according to the streamer, is set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International, which plays a big part in the original show). “[It] explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities,” a press release reads. “It’s part college show, part ‘Hunger Games’ — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of ‘The Boys”.

The cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Based on the trailer, familiar characters from The Boys will also make guest appearances on the show, including A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), and Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne).

“Gen V,” joins animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical and web series Seven on 7 as the latest expansion of the show’s universe.

While an exact premiere date has not yet been set, the trailer confirms the new series will premiere in 2023.
