During a Monday appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Diaz dished on what she’s been up to since quitting acting.

Diaz — who shares daughter Raddix, 2, with husband Benji Madden candidly spoke about motherhood and that it’s “the best thing I’ve ever done in life.”

Still, there have been times when she has lost her cool.

When Clarkson, asked about those moments when parenting can be frustrating, Diaz said that she does her “mom checklist” and tries to understand what Raddix might be feeling.

“Did she eat? Is she tired? What time is it? When was the last time she ate? When did she nap?

“You just kind of start there, and you go, ‘What just happened? Is there something she’s trying to communicate to me?’ ” Diaz explained.

“And I feel like as a parent, my job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she’s going through and be able to help her identify that and move through it,” she shared.

Diaz also gave Kelly a taste of her wine which she started with her girlfriend, she told Kelly, “My girlfriend and I, Catherine Power, we didn’t, we didn’t know what was in our wine… we didn’t know what was in it because it’s not disclosed, there’s no labeling on wine. It’s one of the only consumables that does have an ingredient list. And so we kind of took a deep dive into winemaking, and found that there are a plethora of additives that can be utilized in the winemaking process for various different reasons..”

Diaz confirmed in March 2018 that she had stepped away from acting and told Kevin Hart during an appearance on his talk show, Hart to Heart, last year, that her decision to retire came down to a realization that she was spending so much time and energy on acting, she was no longer managing her own life.
