Harry Styles paused a concert in Manchester, UK on Thursday night, asking fans to be momentarily quiet. “I’m going to ask a favor from you because I’d like to try and find someone in the audience,” he said.

“My first-ever school teacher is here tonight,” he continues, met by cheers from the crowd. “Her name’s Mrs. Vernon, and I believe she is in the crowd. We’re going to try and find her. If Mrs. Vernon is here. Are you here?”

The “Late Night Talking” singer was successful as he found his teacher. He then dropped to his knees to pay tribute.

“I’d just like to thank you for everything in those formative years and, yeah, thank you so much. It means a lot to me that you’re here tonight,” he said, as fans cheered.

It turns out, however, that Mrs. Vernon wasn’t at the gig – and it was her colleague Mrs. Bailey who was shown on the big screen.

The real Mrs. Vernon has since spoken about how touched she was that Harry paid tribute to her during an appearance on Lorraine on Friday morning.

‘I would have loved to have been there but it was Mrs. Bailey, my colleague.’

‘It was it was a really kind thing to do,’ she said. ‘Teachers do a brilliant job, every teacher works so hard and the reward we get is from the children.’

She told the host: “It was such a lovely lovely thing to do.
